Lesslie Alvarez Burhans has over 17 years of finance and accounting experience in various aspects of business.  Lesslie has a BA from Baruch College and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.  Lesslie began her career working at UBS in Wealth Management.

She later went on to become the controller of a successful bio-tech firm where she worked with international technology companies in mergers and acquisitions.

In 2012 Lesslie joined an international private equity fund as Controller whose investors included renown multilateral development banks. In 2020 she became CFO of an impact fund working with the SBA. The fund focused on providing capital to minority owned businesses. Lesslie has spent the last decade trying to help underserved communities. She believes that BGL provides a valuable resource to businesses providing SME personalized expert advice to ensure compliance and success in their ventures. Lesslie mentors women entrepreneurs at her local Women’s Business Development chapter and volunteers in a community art gallery, when she is not skiing, practicing yoga, studying physics, or writing.
